Mums in the Know: 28th March 2014
I’m Kate Challinor-Moss, mum of one lovely little girl who’s one, and the founder of Honey Belles – an exciting new ladies choir for local mums! I’m apparently an ‘old Mum’. Whatever that means at 37, but I’ll always be a teacher at heart. My husband and I made the decision that when my daughter came along, I would look after her whilst he did the whole hunter gatherer thing. So my days of teaching 30 kids in hour slots changed to me looking after 1 child 24/7. Who knew it would be this hard? Who knew I’d miss work and kids shouting ‘Miss, Miss, MISSSSS’? The transformation into Bea’s Mum was a challenge. I forgot what it was like to be referred to by my own name. I needed a bit of time to be me. I love to sing but struggled to find a choir that did my kind of music, so I thought why not start my own choir. I’d done it successfully in schools before, why not with yummy mummies? And that is how the Honey Belles came into being.
